Kriegsmarine service wristwatches distributed under the names “KM Vogele” and “KM Speck”

  • by

Matt silver dials with black hour numbers along with outer minute scale, off set sunk seconds dials at the 6-O’clock position, both dials marked with the “KM” Kriegsmarine contract designation along with the manufacturer/distributor name. Cases in heavy nickle-silver plate over brass. Watch case has press fit back plate with brass inner plate.

Tourneau shaped movement bears impressed logo and movement type “PUW 500”, 17 jewels with mono-metallic screw balance and simple regualtion. These movements were obviously originally manufactured to fit into tourneau cases, as sometimes happened, if a quantity of such movements were left over they were simply purpose fitted to other watch cases as long as they conformed quality wise to the demands of the customer (in this case the Kriegsmarine).
