Champleve Enamel Hand Engraving

The dragon is a superb piece, created by incredibly talanted craftsmen using opaque black champleve enamel and engraved by hand to bring out subtle suggestions of depth and relief. Its diamond eyes heighten the magic of this piece. The background, in translucent red champleve enamel, contains the small seconds of the Manufacture movement 9754 MC. Champleve enamel is applied in the hollows engraved by the craftsman who faithfully follows the original drawing. A series of operations, including firings to around 800ºC, are involved in producing this dial.
