Very fine and exceptionally rare, tonneau shaped, water-resistant, 18k yellow gold gentleman’s wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers and rare 3/6/9 minutes telephone timing indicator, triple date in English, yellow gold Rolex buckle.

Case

Two part, polished and brushed, screw-down case back and crown, inclined polished bezel, curved lugs.

Dial

Two-tone matt silver with applied yellow gold dot indexes. Arabic 12, outer minutes/seconds divisions, subsdiary for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers with telephone time indicator, outermost graduation for the days of the month in blue Arabic numerals, apertures for the days of the week and the months, yellow gold “alpha” hands.

Movement

Cal 72c, 13”, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, incabloc shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring, index regulator.

Bibliography

Thes antimagnetic chronograph was produced from 1948 to 1955 and was made in pink or yellow gold and in stainless steel.

The main difference between the 6036 and the 6236 is that the first has a two part case and the 6236 has a three part case.

Ref 6039, known to collectors as “Jean-Claude Killy” – skiing World Champion in the 1960s is among the most of desirable watches for collectors.
