Rolex – The screw down winding crown
Ever since Rolex developed, patented, and introduced the Rolex case in 1926, all Rolex waterproof watches have been equipped with the screw dwon winding crown. The Rolex crown bears the name of either “Twinlock“, for all standard Oysters, or “Triplock“for diving models. As efficient as the hatch of a submarine, these unique crowns protect the movement by sealing the Oyster case against the elements. Thirty-five exacting operations are necessary to manufacture a single Rolex crown.
