An Important Feature of the Chronograph JLC 630

  • by
Chronograph JLC 630

It shows you the time at your point of departure as well as a local time on your overseas trips, when changing the time-zone.

The JLC 630 operates beyond the 12-hour-chronometer. The hands on the face can continue their progress like this for weeks or even months. This feature allows the display of both your departure-point-time and the respective local time. Proceed as follows:

  1. Before your departure, start the chronograph at precisely the 12 o’clock position, i.e. 12 a.m. Or 12 p.m. The hour indicator at 3 o’clock now serves as hour counter of your departure-point-time as long as the chronograph is not stopped.

  2. On arrival at your destination simply set the watch to the local time (winder in position 3). After having pushed back the winder to position 0 the chronograph movement will resume operation and the hour and minute counters will indicate the time of your departure-point.

  3. If you cross the date-line over the Pacific, you will have to reset the day which you do with the winder in position 2 (fast date change). You can choose whether you wish the departure-point-date or the local date (maximum difference of one day).

  1. Engage the chronograph at 12 o’clock (watch and chronograph are synchronised).

  2. At your destination set local time with winder in position 3.

If required the date can be reset with the winder in position 2.

Dials A and B will show the time at your point of departure.

PS: please note that using the chronograph in this particular manner is an additional drain on the battery.

Using this mode continuously could reduce the battery life from 3 to 1 years.
