Up for sale a rare vintage Longines Military ref. 5774 men's watch from 1940's. The Longines reference 5774 was specifically ordered by the French army after WWII, and this particular piece was delivered in December 1948. The Fab. Suisse mention on the dial is consistent with a delivery to the French authorities, which were particularly interested in the water-resistant case, the luminous dial, and the reliable 12.68N manual-wound caliber. It is incredible to think of a 33mm diameter for a military wristwatch today, but on the wrist this Longines more than makes it work. The watch have original military stainless steel bracelet. We recommend that the watch be serviced considering its age. The dial has a wonderful patina for the years, the backlighting of the hands is missing, it needs to be restored.
