Founded in 1775 by Abraham-Louis Breguet in Paris, Breguet is one of the oldest surviving watchmaking brands. Breguet's innovations have profoundly influenced horology, including the invention of the tourbillon in 1801 and the development of the first self-winding watch, known as the "Perpétuelle," in 1780. • First Wristwatch (1810): Created for Caroline Murat, Queen of Naples, featuring a moon-phase indicator and thermometer. ​

• Marie Antoinette No. 160: Commissioned in 1783, this watch incorporated every known complication of its time. Completed decades after both Breguet and Marie Antoinette's deaths, it was stolen in 1983 and recovered in 2007. 

• Perpetual Calendar with Retrograde Date: A unique Breguet watch featuring a perpetual calendar and retrograde date display sold for over $2 million at a Geneva auction in 2024. ​
