Heritage and Origins
Established in 1898 by Auguste Reymond in Tramelan, Switzerland, Auguste Reymond SA (also known as ARSA) quickly gained recognition for producing high-quality timepieces. By 1903, the company had opened its own factory on Rue du Midi in Tramelan. In 1906, Reymond acquired the Val de Joux Watch Co. to produce his own movements, which he sold in 1910. The company continued to grow, and in 1926, it acquired Unitas, a movement manufacturer that contributed to the brand's reputation for reliability. In 1931, ARSA became the first watch brand to join the ASUAG group, a consortium of Swiss watch manufacturers. Despite challenges during the quartz crisis of the 1970s, Auguste Reymond remained committed to traditional watchmaking. In 2019, the company was acquired by Century Time Gems Ltd., and its operations were moved to Nidau, Switzerland.
