History of Rolex
Rolex was founded by a man named Hans Wilsdorf in 1905 when he was just only 24 years old. Wilsdorf and his brother-in-law opened a company that specialized in wristwatch distribution which was all made, assembled, and cased in London. They used movements that were imported from Bienne, Switzerland. He first named the company after his and brother-in-law's last name which is Wilsdorf and Davis Ltd. But he wants to name his watches with a unique, short, and easy remember word in any language because he is aware that branding matters. While he is riding on the upper deck of an omnibus along Cheapside in London, a genie whispered "Rolex" and that's the start of Rolex as the name of his watches.
