One watch that was released at Baselworld and embodies that brand ideal is the Big Bang Unico Red Magic. Hublot has introduced what is described as the first “vibrantly-colored ceramic” to enter the watch industry. There’s zero doubt to that claim — the new model is bright red and impossible to miss.
The ceramic was developed by Hublot’s R&D team and took four years to bring from concept to completion. The color is reached through a fusion of pressure and heat that sinters the ceramic without burning the pigments.
The ceramic is also incredibly dense, boasting a hardness of 1500 HVI compared to 1200 HV2 of conventional ceramics. The 45 mm column wheel chronograph is limited to 500 total pieces. It features the Unico HUB1242 manufacture movement.
